TIRANA, August 10 – Prime Minister Edi Rama expressed his gratitude and respect for Air Force pilots, firefighters, army special forces and police officers who protected residents during the wildfires in Kruja.
In a social media post, Rama said the teams had overcome a difficult challenge. He said they had fought the fires continuously across Kruja, Kamza, Tirana and Vora during the intense August heat.
Meanwhile, only one isolated fire remains active on Mount Kruja. Rama said residents had sent numerous messages of support. He described those messages as a source of pride and motivation for the emergency teams.
The prime minister also shared a message from a Kruja resident living in Belgium for 30 years. The resident thanked Rama for the government’s support and the aerial intervention during the fire emergency. He also praised Kruja’s firefighters for doing everything possible to contain the blaze.
