TIRANA, August 10 – Durrës Port recorded high passenger traffic during the first 10 days of August, as the summer travel season reached its peak.
According to the Durrës Port Authority, 75,962 passengers travelled through the port between August 1 and 10. Most of the traffic involved arrivals, with 51,259 passengers entering Albania through Durrës, while 24,703 passengers travelled to Italian ports.
The port authority linked the high traffic to the peak summer season and the arrival of Albanian emigrants and tourists who chose sea transport to reach the country.
Between January and July 2026, a total of 349,423 passengers travelled through the Durrës Port Ferry Terminal. Of these, 160,795 passengers departed from Durrës Port for other ports, while 188,628 passengers arrived in Albania through the terminal.
