Apollonia Archaeological Park welcomes visitors from around the world

TIRANA, August 12 – Apollonia Archaeological Park remains one of the most visited destinations in Fier Municipality during the summer season. The site attracts domestic and foreign tourists interested in Albania’s history and cultural heritage. Meanwhile, many visitors are arriving in Apollonia during the August days to explore the ruins of the ancient city and its archaeological monuments.

Deputy Prime Minister Albana Koçiu shared footage from Apollonia on social media. The footage showed the park filled with tourists. Koçiu said Apollonia connects an ancient civilisation with new opportunities for sustainable tourism and economic growth.

The landscape combines history and nature. Visitors can explore the Church of St. Mary at the Monastery of Ardenica. The church offers another example of the area’s rich historical heritage. In addition, the archaeological museum displays objects and artefacts discovered during excavations. These collections help visitors learn about Apollonia’s history and development over the centuries.

Tourists also visit the ancient monuments during their stay. These include the Odeon, the library and the colonnades. The surrounding landscape adds another element to the visitor experience. Meanwhile, the August tourist flow highlights growing interest in cultural and archaeological tourism.

Apollonia remains an important stop on tourist itineraries in southern Albania. Its archaeological and cultural values offer visitors an opportunity to explore the country’s past. The site brings together history, heritage and landscape in a single destination.
