TIRANA, August 14 – Saranda has emerged as a positive example of public beach management during the current tourist season. The city has increased public access and introduced approved, balanced fees.
Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports Blendi Gonxhja said the number of public beach plots and stations has increased by 67% this year. Their total area across Albania has also expanded by more than 10%.
Meanwhile, Gonxhja said Saranda demonstrates the results of broader public beach access and more affordable services. He added that municipalities have introduced a new management model with approved and balanced fees.
According to the minister, institutional cooperation has brought greater access and safety, as well as fewer public complaints. He acknowledged that further work remains, but described the results as a positive basis for improving public beaches for citizens and visitors.
Saranda continues to develop as an example of public beach management during the tourist season. The coastal city now offers more accessible public spaces, more organised services and established fees.
