TIRANA, August 17 – Heavy passenger and vehicle traffic has been recorded at the Morina border crossing between Kosova and Albania. Authorities are using simplified border procedures for vehicles with Albanian and Kosovan registration plates. However, large numbers of vehicles have occasionally caused long queues extending deep into Kosova.
Some travellers from Kosova are returning after holidays in Albania. Others are heading to Albania’s coastal cities for the weekend or the remaining days of the summer season.
Meanwhile, heavy traffic between the two countries has continued throughout the week. Weekends remain the busiest period. Reported figures show that more than 35,000 people enter Albania from Kosova on average each day. A similar number leave the country.
Morina remains one of the main crossing points between Kosova and Albania, particularly during the tourist season. Authorities continue to use available resources to manage the traffic and ensure faster border crossings.
