Albania’s U-21 national football team is entering the final stage of preparations for another major international event. Head coach Alban Bushi has announced the squad for the “Taranto 2026” Mediterranean Games in Italy.
The squad includes players from the Albanian league and young talents developing their careers abroad. They represent clubs and academies in Albania, the Netherlands, Greece and Italy.
Skander Tahri and Amarildo Dervishaj will play as goalkeepers. The defensive line includes Arlind Leshi, Antonis Dama, Aurel Marku, Rajmond Marinaj, Kevi Mejdani, Renato Halili and Valentin Daja.
Ersi Bode, Bjorni Duka, Oresti Kasmollari, Orgito Ruçi and Jordi Jaku make up the midfield.
Hetem Lushaj, Kristi Bespallov, Emiljano Mihana and Nebi Qokthi provide options in attack.
Albania will compete in Group B alongside Italy, Kosovo and Algeria.
The team will open its campaign against Italy in Lecce on August 22. It will then face Kosovo and Algeria.
The tournament will give Albania’s young players valuable international experience. It will also provide another platform to develop the country’s next generation of football talent.
