Durrës remains a favorite destination for domestic and foreign tourists

Durrës remains one of Albania’s most popular destinations for both domestic and international tourists during the summer season.

The coastal city combines beaches, history, culture and Albanian hospitality, offering visitors a diverse holiday experience.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared footage of the city’s busy streets, filled with tourists during the hot summer days.

The Durrës coastline offers a wide range of sandy and partly rocky beaches. Hotels, resorts and agritourism facilities also provide services for local and international visitors.

Durrës offers more than seaside tourism. The city also has a rich cultural and historical heritage.

Visitors can explore sites such as the Roman Amphitheatre, the city’s ancient fortification walls, the Byzantine Forum, the Venetian Tower, the Roman Baths and the Basilica of Arapaj.

Other attractions include the Skanderbeg Fortification at Cape Rodon and Ishëm Castle.

The combination of beaches, heritage and cultural attractions continues to make Durrës an important destination for Albania’s tourism sector.
