Mediterranean Games “Taranto 2026”: Albania U-21 draw 1-1 with Italy

Albania U-21 opened its “Taranto 2026” campaign with a 1-1 draw against Italy in Group B. The match took place in Lecce.

The Red and Blacks made a strong start and took the lead just before halftime. Rajmond Marinaj scored in the 45th minute to put Albania ahead.

However, Italy responded after the break and levelled the score. Both teams created chances to win, but neither side found a second goal.

Coach Alban Bushi made several changes during the second half and gave other players a chance to contribute. Nevertheless, the teams finished the match level.

As a result, Albania earned one important point from its opening game. The team will now turn its attention to its next Group B match.

On August 24, Albania U-21 will face Kosovo at 21:00. The Red and Blacks will aim for their first victory and will look to strengthen their position in the competition.
