A strong earthquake struck Japan early Sunday, with its epicenter in Ibaraki Prefecture. The tremor also reached the Tokyo area.
So far, the Albanian Embassy has reported no deaths or major damage. However, the earthquake injured several people, and the Embassy wished them a speedy recovery.
Meanwhile, the Albanian Embassy in Tokyo has urged Albanian citizens living in Japan and those visiting the country to follow official updates closely. It also called on them to comply with instructions from Japanese authorities.
In addition, the Embassy advised citizens to monitor information from the Japan Meteorological Agency, Japan’s disaster-prevention authorities and NHK WORLD-JAPAN.
The Embassy has also made emergency contacts available to Albanian citizens who may need assistance.
Therefore, Albanian citizens in Japan should remain cautious and follow local safety instructions, particularly as heavy rainfall has also affected parts of the country.
