TIRANA, August 24 – Albania’s fire situation has improved, according to the Ministry of Defence. Civil Protection structures continue coordinated operations across the country.
Authorities reported 11 fires during the day. Four remain active and 7 are under monitoring. A total of 332 operational personnel and 15 firefighting vehicles are deployed. The Armed Forces are providing 150 personnel, 3 firefighting vehicles, 1 heavy excavator, 4 helicopters and 2 Air Tractor aircraft.
In Gojan–Gjegjan, Puka, ground and aerial operations have significantly improved the situation. Meanwhile, teams continue work in Shtana–Tene and Shtuf in Mirdita, with no risk to homes. Operations also continue on Mount Dajti, Tirana, where authorities report no threat to populated areas.
In addition, the fire in Dukat, Vlora, has been extinguished and remains under monitoring. Authorities are also monitoring fires in Dibër, Lezha, Elbasan and Vlora.
The National Civil Protection Agency continues to coordinate the response with local authorities. Operational teams remain ready to intervene, with priority given to protecting lives, homes and property.
