Albania’s Vlora region continues to attract visitors with its rich natural landscapes, biodiversity and protected areas.
From January to July, more than 494,000 people visited protected areas across the region. According to the Vlora Protected Areas Administration, 166,809 visitors were Albanian, while 327,239 were international tourists.
Butrint National Park recorded the highest number of visitors. A total of 159,987 people visited the park during the first seven months of the year, including 141,022 foreign tourists.
Meanwhile, the Blue Eye Nature Park ranked second, attracting 132,796 visitors. International tourists accounted for 94,328 of them, while 38,468 were local visitors.
Llogara National Park also remained a popular destination, welcoming 72,649 visitors. In addition, the Pishë Poro–Nartë Protected Landscape recorded 61,715 visitors.
Other protected areas also attracted thousands of tourists. Karaburun Nature Park welcomed 27,345 visitors, while Porto Palermo Nature Park received 20,040. Karaburun–Sazan National Park recorded 14,931 visitors, while the Ksamil Islands attracted 4,585.
Together, these destinations combine beaches, forests, mountains, wildlife and cultural heritage. As a result, they are strengthening Vlora’s position as one of Albania’s leading tourism regions.
Furthermore, protected areas support sustainable tourism and help preserve rare species and natural habitats. Visitors can enjoy hiking, birdwatching, diving and other activities while experiencing Albania’s natural heritage.
