The Albanian Prosecutors’ Association has announced its admission as a full member of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP).

In its statement, the Association described the membership as an important milestone for the representation of Albanian prosecutors on the international stage.

According to the Association, the IAP, founded on June 6, 1995, at the United Nations Offices in Vienna, brings together more than 250,000 prosecutors from 175 countries worldwide.

The membership gives the Association the opportunity to become an active part of an international network of professionals, exchange experiences and best practices with colleagues from different justice systems, and contribute to international discussions on the role, independence, integrity, and professionalism of prosecutors.

The Association emphasized that the membership will also help strengthen international cooperation, support the professional development of its members, and enhance communication with counterpart organizations.

“For the Prosecutors’ Association of the Republic of Albania, membership in the IAP represents more than institutional recognition. It is a step toward broader representation of Albanian prosecutors within the international prosecutorial community and an opportunity to bring international experience, standards, and best practices to Albania,” the statement said.

The Association said it aims to turn this membership into a sustainable platform for cooperation, professional exchange, and development, helping to strengthen the role of prosecutors in a democratic society and uphold the values of justice.
