The sixth edition of the Dropull International Short Film Festival has opened. For the first time, the festival is being held simultaneously in Gjirokastra and Dropull, bringing 30 competing films from Albania, Kosovo, and Greece to the big screen.

Over the course of four days, alongside film screenings, the program also includes workshops on filmmaking, animation, and painting, attended by art enthusiasts of different ages. Organizers aim for the festival to serve not only as a platform for showcasing films but also as a meeting point for young creators.
The festival has also attracted participants from across the region, who see the event as an opportunity for cooperation in the field of cinema and for connecting with Albanian audiences.
For some participants, the festival is also an opportunity to present their work in Albania for the first time. One of the competing directors described Gjirokastra as an attractive city and expressed her hopes for the festival’s success.
This summer, the Dropull International Short Film Festival has turned Gjirokastra into a meeting point for regional cinema. Through films and artistic activities, the organizers aim to bring audiences closer to the seventh art and strengthen cultural cooperation among countries in the region.
