TIRANA, August 25 – The State Agency for Strategic Programming and Aid Coordination has updated Albania’s Unified List of Projects of National Importance. The list includes 118 projects with a projected investment value of 14.8 billion euros. The projects support the country’s strategic development priorities and aim to provide a more stable basis for planning public investment.
Transport accounts for the largest number of projects, with 38. Energy follows with 27 projects. The social sector has 17 projects, while the environment has 12 and digitalisation 11.
Meanwhile, the agency says strategic programming helps advance projects to a more mature stage. This process supports project preparation and strengthens investment-planning capacities. The updated list also aims to provide a more structured approach to identifying, programming and coordinating strategic projects in line with national development objectives.
According to the agency, better project preparation can support more effective planning and more sustainable investment. It can also strengthen the long-term development impact of projects and improve the quality and sustainability of public investment.
