Foreign visitor arrivals in Albania top 7 million in seven months, nearly 2 million in July

TIRANA, August 25 – More than 7 million foreign nationals entered Albania in the first seven months of 2026, with nearly 2 million arrivals recorded in July alone. INSTAT reported 1,955,099 foreign arrivals in July, up 7.1% from 1,825,490 a year earlier.

From January through July, Albania recorded 7,014,168 entries by foreign nationals. The figure marks a 6.5% increase from the same period in 2025. European countries remained the main source of visitors, accounting for 1,833,396 arrivals in July.

Southern Europe led with 1,178,557 entries. Central and Eastern Europe followed with 231,450, while Western Europe recorded 224,975 and Northern Europe 132,728. Meanwhile, Albania also recorded 67,928 arrivals from the Americas, 16,723 from East Asia and the Pacific, 9,041 from Africa and 6,487 from South Asia.

According to INSTAT, personal travel accounted for 99% of foreign arrivals in July. This category increased by 7.3% year on year, while business and professional arrivals fell by 8.9%. In total, 2,826,615 Albanian and foreign nationals entered the country in July, 6.1% more than in July 2025.
