TIRANA, August 25 – The Albanian Football Federation has launched a project to build 2 modern football fields in the Presheva Valley in southern Serbia, an area with a predominantly ethnic Albanian population. One field will be built in the Municipality of Presheva and the other in the Municipality of Bujanoc. The project aims to provide Albanian children and young people with modern facilities for football and sports development.
The federation will finance the foundations, FIFA-standard artificial turf and goalposts. Meanwhile, the municipalities of Presheva and Bujanoc will build changing rooms and other supporting facilities. The project forms part of the federation’s wider efforts to support football development among Albanian communities.
The investment also aims to provide children and young people with safe spaces for physical activity and promote the values of sport, education and integration. The federation said the facilities will create better opportunities for young people to develop their sporting skills.
The Albanian Football Federation has invited businesses, companies and individual donors to support the project. It said contributions will directly help create better conditions for hundreds of children and young people in the Presheva Valley. The federation also said cooperation between institutions and the business community could turn the initiative into an example of solidarity and social responsibility.
