Tirana has been ranked Europe’s most affordable city-break destination, with an average daily cost of around €59 per person, according to an analysis published by Euronews.
The ranking, based on research by British travel company Thomas Cook, examined more than 50 popular destinations. It compared average prices for a three-star hotel, an affordable restaurant meal, coffee, public transport and tourist attractions.
Tirana topped the list at around €59 per day. A three-star hotel costs about €32 per person per night, while an affordable meal averages €8.50.
Bucharest ranked second at €66 per day, followed by Antalya and Warsaw at €78 each. Istanbul completed the top five at around €82.
The ranking highlights the growing appeal of affordable European destinations as rising travel and flight costs encourage tourists to look for better-value city breaks.
