Albania’s public revenues have increased by 31% over the past three years. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance aims to increase public revenues by €1.2 billion compared with 2024 by the end of this year.
Finance Minister Petrit Malaj said the increase reflects sustained economic growth and the formalization of Albania’s economy.
“To be more specific, during the first seven months of this year, revenues increased by around €515 million compared with the same period in 2025,” Malaj said.
According to the minister, higher public revenues create more room for investment and better public services.
“Our goal is to increase public revenues by €1.2 billion compared with 2024 by the end of the year. This money will go toward building more schools, health centers and hospitals. It will also support businesses through additional subsidies, provide new services and improve existing ones,” Malaj said.
Furthermore, the minister stressed that higher revenues should translate into more investment, development and better services for citizens.
“The economy is growing, and this is also strengthening the state’s financial capacity. Our objective is clear: to create more room for investment, development and higher-quality services for citizens,” he said.
Malaj also stressed that every increase in budget revenues should create more opportunities for families, businesses and communities across the country.
“Economic growth matters when it translates into greater prosperity for people,” the finance minister concluded.
