TIRANA, August 27 – Albania’s Under-21 national team ended its campaign at the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games after finishing third in Group B with 4 points.
The team, coached by Alban Bushi, lost 2-0 to Algeria in its third group match. The first half ended goalless. Algeria then scored twice after the break through Lahlou Akhrib and Houssem Abdelaziz.
Earlier, Albania had drawn 1-1 with Italy and defeated Kosova 3-1. However, Italy’s 3-0 victory over Kosova moved the Italians above Albania in the Group B standings. Italy secured a place in the semi-finals on goal difference.
As a result, Albania ended its Taranto 2026 campaign after three matches. The team recorded one win and one draw during the group stage.
