TIRANA, August 27 – A total of 387 new recruits officially joined Albania’s State Police after completing the General Patrol training course. The certification ceremony took place at the Security Academy, where Interior Minister Besfort Lamallari and State Police Director General Skënder Hita stressed the need to strengthen crime prevention and public trust.
Lamallari told the new officers that the police uniform represented responsibility rather than privilege. He urged them to protect their integrity and maintain public trust despite pressure or attempts at influence. The minister also called for a shift from a reactive police force towards a proactive service that remained close to communities.
Meanwhile, Hita urged the recruits to maintain high ethical standards throughout their careers. He said they should remain guided by the law, service to citizens and respect for fallen police officers who also held the status of national martyrs.
The certification marked another step in the structural reform of the State Police and its alignment with European standards.
