TIRANA, August 27 – The State Police said several institutions in cities across Albania had received threatening emails this morning claiming that bombs had been placed inside the buildings.
Police said officers had immediately begun checks at the institutions named in the threats. So far, they had found no bombs or other explosives.
Meanwhile, the Cybercrime Investigation Directorate, together with the Counter-Terrorism Directorate and other law enforcement agencies, continued efforts to identify the sender and the email address used to issue the threats.
The State Police said there was no reason for panic. Authorities remained engaged in maintaining public order and security and preventing illegal activity.
