TIRANA, August 28 – Egnatia were eliminated by Norway’s Lillestrom in the final qualifying round for the Europa League despite taking the lead and controlling much of the match. The Albanian champions will continue their European campaign in the Conference League. Dinamo City also ended its European campaign after losing 4-2 to Pafos in Cyprus.
Egnatia took the lead in the 33rd minute through Sota. Lillestrom equalised through Moen Fos in the 82nd minute after an assist from Ibrahimaj. The match ended 1-1 in regular time and went into extra time. Olsen then scored for Lillestrom in the 94th minute to put the Norwegian side ahead. Egnatia could not find an equaliser.
Dinamo City also took an early lead in Cyprus. Fadairo scored in the 8th minute, while Sema equalised for Pafos four minutes later. Ioannou put the hosts ahead in the 79th minute, but Silva-Richards restored parity for Dinamo in the 87th minute. The match went into extra time.
Pafos regained the lead through Quina in the 116th minute. Silva then scored in the first minute of stoppage time to complete a 4-2 victory and end Dinamo City’s European campaign.
