Hoxha: Albanian Alps offer a natural treasure that attracts more visitors

Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha shared images of Tamara, Lepushë, and Vermosh on X. He highlighted the beauty of the Albanian Alps and their growing potential for mountain tourism.

“Here, nature knows no limits, beauty becomes wealth, hospitality becomes law, and tradition becomes identity,” Hoxha wrote.

He described the region as another face of Albania. He called it “authentic, proud, and full of life.”

Hoxha said Albania has built a strong position on the Mediterranean tourism map with its coastline. However, he also highlighted the country’s mountain regions, which attract more visitors from around the world.

“Mountain tourism offers more than breathtaking landscapes. It invests in local economies and supports the communities that live and work in these areas,” Hoxha said.

He added that mountain tourism can support a sustainable development model. This model can protect, promote, and create opportunities from Albania’s natural and cultural heritage.

Hoxha also highlighted the Mountain Package. He said the initiative aims to support the transformation of mountain areas and turn their potential into new development opportunities.

The minister linked mountain tourism with Albania’s European integration process. He stressed the need for higher standards, quality infrastructure, environmental protection, and sustainable development.

“These steps create more opportunities for citizens and give Albanian tourism an increasingly European and competitive outlook,” Hoxha wrote.

He concluded by describing the Albanian Alps as a place where nature and tradition meet the future.

“Albania sees itself in the heart of these majestic Alps: beautiful, proud, welcoming, and full of opportunities.”
