Shkodër’s Migjeni Theatre archive calls for digitization

TIRANA, August 31 – The archive of the Migjeni Theatre in Shkodër preserves an important part of the institution’s history. Photographs, documents, posters and other materials record its activities over the years and the artists who have performed on its stage.

Archivist Astrit Fani said the archive needs better conditions and an electronic system to preserve its materials. He also highlighted the limited space available for the archive and the need for proper equipment.

Digitizing the photographs, documents and other materials would help protect them and make the theatre’s history easier to access. Fani said preserving the archive would also safeguard the legacy of prominent figures from Shkoder’s artistic life.

The initiative would provide an important way to preserve and pass the artistic memory of the Migjeni Theatre to future generations.
