TIRANA, August 31 – The wildfire situation has worsened in the Shkopet area as flames spread rapidly through the villages of Trodhen and Lundra e Madhe in Mat and moved toward the Kurbin area.
The fire is advancing toward the Skanderbeg mountain range, increasing the risk to homes, farmland and local activities.
A livestock farm with around 250 cattle faces particular danger. Sources at the scene said flames have surrounded the farm, making it impossible to evacuate the animals. They also said some of the cattle may have died in the fire.
Firefighters continue efforts to contain the flames and bring the fire under control. The situation remains dynamic, while the risk of further spread into Kurbin remains high.
