High fire risk in Lezha, Tirana and Fier

TIRANA, August 31 – The Institute of GeoSciences has warned of a high fire risk in several Albanian counties this afternoon and on Tuesday, September 1.

The institute expects high risk levels in Lezha, Tirana and Fier. Other counties will face moderate risk. Some areas in Shkodra, Kukës, Dibra, Durres, Elbasan, Berat, Korça, Vlora and Gjirokaster will also face locally high risk.

Meanwhile, light rainfall is expected this afternoon and tomorrow in Kukës, Dibra, Elbasan, Berat, Korça and Gjirokaster. Shkodra, Lezha, Durres, Tirana, Fier and Vlora may see locally light rain.

Temperatures on Tuesday will range from 23 to 32 degrees Celsius along the coast. Lowland areas will see temperatures between 22 and 35 degrees. Mountain areas will range from 17 to 31 degrees.

Winds will remain light to moderate this afternoon and tomorrow. They may become strong at times along the coast and in mountainous areas.
