Farmers who were declared successful in the first phase of the National Agricultural Support Scheme have until September 11 to submit the required documentation. The Agricultural and Rural Development Agency has extended the deadline for applicants, giving them more time to complete their documents and verify that they meet the required conditions.
Farmers who fail to complete the documentation by the new deadline risk being disqualified from the scheme. Interest has been high this year. A total of 42,730 applications have been registered, with funding requests amounting to 7.2 billion lek, while the available fund stands at 5.2 billion lek. Fier leads in the number of applications, followed by Korça, Elbasan and Vlora.
The most sought-after support measures have been those for small livestock herds, with 7,240 applications, beekeeping with 7,000 applications, and cattle herds with 6,730 applications.
This year’s scheme includes 12 support measures aimed at reducing production costs, improving quality and modernizing agriculture.
