Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha met with Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger during his participation in the European Forum Alpbach in Austria.
Hoxha thanked his Austrian counterpart for Austria’s continued support for Albania’s path toward EU membership.
The two ministers highlighted Austria’s strong role in promoting the European perspective of the Western Balkans. Austria also leads the “Friends of the Western Balkans” group.
Hoxha said economic cooperation between the two countries has reached new levels.
“Our economic partnership is stronger than ever. Austria remains one of Albania’s key strategic investors,” Hoxha said.
The ministers also discussed ways to expand economic cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Hoxha noted that growing numbers of Austrian visitors travel to Albania each year. He said this trend reflects the close ties between the two countries.
The meeting also addressed the increasingly complex geopolitical situation in Europe and around the world.
“Albania and Austria stand together to advance regional stability and strengthen resilience against emerging hybrid threats, including FIMI. We also contribute to a stronger, more resilient, and united Europe,” Hoxha said.
