TIRANA, September 1 – Foreign Minister Ferit Hoxha took part in the European Forum Alpbach in Austria at the invitation of Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger. He joined a panel focused on Europe’s ability to act in a rapidly changing world.
Hoxha said Albania’s present and future are closely linked to Europe’s future as the country advances toward European Union membership. He said Albania considers Europe’s challenges to be its own and that decisions taken today will shape the Europe it seeks to join.
The minister said Albania already contributes to Europe’s security and stability. He cited the country’s alignment with the European Union’s foreign and security policy, including the adoption of EU sanctions and participation in EU-led missions and operations. He also highlighted Albania’s active role in NATO and its commitment to European values and responsibilities.
Hoxha said Albania is ready to take on a greater role in addressing common challenges. He also said the country wants to contribute to shaping a European Union that is more capable of acting, faster when necessary, stronger when challenged and more united when it matters most.
