Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha met with US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker on the sidelines of the Bled Strategic Forum.
In a post on the social media platform X, Hoxha said the meeting reaffirmed the importance of the strategic partnership between Albania and the United States, as well as their shared commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
“It was a pleasure to meet with Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker on the sidelines of the Bled Strategic Forum,” Hoxha wrote.
According to the minister, following discussions held in Washington in July, the two sides discussed cooperation in defense and security, as well as within NATO, particularly following the Ankara Summit and ahead of the Alliance’s upcoming summit to be held in Albania.
The meeting also addressed the security environment and recent developments in the Western Balkans, highlighting the importance of continued engagement in support of stability and security in the region.
Hoxha stressed that Albania and the United States share a longstanding partnership based on common democratic values, transatlantic solidarity, and a shared commitment to security.
“We look forward to continuing our close dialogue and cooperation, with a focus on achieving tangible results that advance our shared interests and benefit both our countries,” the minister concluded.
