TIRANA, September 2 – A wildfire has gone out of control in the high forests of Trodhna, in the Ulëz Administrative Unit of Mat Municipality, threatening homes and livestock shelters.
Police and Mat municipal authorities evacuated two families as the flames spread. Two livestock shelters also remain at risk.
Meanwhile, difficult terrain and the rapid spread of the fire have complicated firefighting efforts. One farmer with around 100 cattle has refused to move his herd from the danger zone despite the situation.
Firefighting forces and other personnel remain on the ground, working to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading toward populated areas.
