TIRANA, September 3 – Education Minister Mirela Kumbaro announced the start of textbook distribution for the new school year. For the first time, all primary school students from first to fifth grade will receive new textbooks free of charge.

Kumbaro said the measure would ease the financial burden on families. She also stressed the importance of ensuring that every student starts the school year with the necessary learning materials.

During a visit to “Andrea Stefani” School, the minister also met with teaching staff to discuss preparations for the new school year.

Meanwhile, the meeting covered several priorities for the new academic year. These include the ban on mobile phone use in schools, implementation of the Code of Ethics for teachers and the continuation of the “Pas Shkolle” (After School) programme.

The programme currently operates in 408 schools across Albania.
