TIRANA, September 4 – Prime Minister Edi Rama said open government should not be taken for granted as the Open Government Partnership marks 15 years since its founding.
The Agency for Media and Information published Rama’s video message for the anniversary. Albania joined the partnership in 2011. Rama said it has helped the country learn from international experience and exchange practices. He also said it has contributed to improvements in how government serves citizens.
Rama stressed that the partnership remains relevant as Albania continues its institutional reforms. He said reforms are difficult and public trust requires continuous work. He pointed to efforts to strengthen democratic institutions, modernise public administration and expand digital services.
The next stage of this work is the 2026-2030 National Action Plan for the Open Government Partnership. The Minister of State for Public Administration and Anticorruption is finalising the plan. The government will soon publish it for public consultation.
