Music, folklore, poetry and Macedonian art have arrived in Albania as part of North Macedonia Cultural Week. The event began on September 3 and will continue through September 6.
The cultural week opened with a special concert at the Concert Hall of the Orthodox Church in Tirana. The event combined classical music with Macedonian folk traditions. As a result, Albanian audiences gained a closer look at the cultural richness and diversity of the neighboring country.
The “ConTempora” Chamber Orchestra performed works by Macedonian composers. Meanwhile, the “EuroArt” Folk Dance Ensemble brought the spirit of folklore to the stage through traditional dances, songs and costumes. The performers also featured authentic folk instruments.
Around 80 artists are taking part in the artistic program. They showcase the energy, colors and traditions of North Macedonia through a program that connects cultural heritage with contemporary artistic expression.
The event, which runs from September 3 to 6, features a diverse program of traditional music, folklore, poetry, visual arts and contemporary creativity. It gives Albanian audiences an opportunity to discover more about North Macedonia’s culture and artistic scene.
Moreover, North Macedonia Cultural Week aims to strengthen cultural ties between the two neighboring countries. Through art and heritage, the event creates new bridges of communication and closer relations between their peoples.
During the coming days, Macedonian traditions will meet modern forms of artistic expression. At the same time, the program will create space for dialogue, cooperation and cultural exchange between artists and audiences from both countries.
North Macedonia Cultural Week forms part of a broader series of activities that bring the cultures of regional countries closer to Albanian audiences. These initiatives promote mutual understanding through art and culture.
Tonight, Durrës will host another special event as part of the cultural week. The audience will enjoy a performance by the Ajga Chamber Orchestra, one of the best-known chamber music ensembles in North Macedonia.
Under the direction of maestro Ivan Eminović, the orchestra will present a program that combines the classical repertoire with works by Macedonian composers.
