The Ministry of Defence reported 43 wildfires across Albania over the past 24 hours. Of these, 13 remain active, while eight are under monitoring and 22 have been extinguished.
Meanwhile, 697 local and municipal emergency personnel took part in firefighting and monitoring operations. In addition, they used 68 firefighting vehicles across the country.
The Armed Forces also joined the response. A total of 314 military personnel supported the operations. They also deployed eight firefighting vehicles, one water tanker, 29 other vehicles, five ambulances and one drone. Furthermore, crews carried out four helicopter operations.
Today, around 252 military personnel will continue supporting the firefighting efforts. In addition, authorities will deploy 28 vehicles, two ambulances and one drone.
In Tirana County, the fire on Mount Dajti remains active in beech forest and scrubland. However, authorities report no threat to populated areas. Yesterday, 25 firefighters, seven ADZM personnel and 55 Armed Forces members worked at the site. Meanwhile, a helicopter also supported the operation. Today, around 50 more military personnel will join the effort. Authorities are also monitoring fires in Kryezi, Mount Bërzhita and Mali me Gropa.
In Dibër County, fires remain active in Vajkal, Bulqizë; Lundrë–Madhesh, Mat; Qafa e Helmes; and Cerrujë–Mount Allushi, Klos. Meanwhile, the Armed Forces have supported operations in Lundrë–Madhesh. Today, around 30 military personnel will join the response. However, authorities report no threat to nearby communities.
In Lezhë County, the fire in Gallatë, Kurbin, continues to burn across difficult terrain. Nevertheless, it poses no threat to homes. Meanwhile, the largest operation continues along the Kalivaç–Zimaj–Kashnjet axis. Yesterday, around 100 local and volunteer personnel joined 124 Armed Forces members. In addition, teams used 16 vehicles, two ambulances and a helicopter. Today, around 50 military personnel will continue the operation.
In Shkodër County, authorities continue to monitor the fire above Ludric and Shopel in Fushë-Arrëz. At the same time, fires remain active in Mnelë e Vogël, Bardhaj–Myselim and Mount Tërbun. Two homes in Mnelë e Vogël face a potential threat. Therefore, firefighters continue to protect the area.
Elsewhere, fires remain active in Gurëshpatë in Librazhd, Qesarat–Mount Malina in Finiq and Çërrilë in Mallakastër. Finally, the National Civil Protection Agency continues to monitor the situation nationwide. Overall, authorities remain focused on protecting lives, homes and property.
