Rama: Vlora Olive Grove Exports Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil to Europe and US

“Bregu i Lofatave,” an olive grove in Risili, Vlora, produces premium extra virgin olive oil for domestic and international markets. The farm now exports its products to several European countries and the United States.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared a video of the olive grove on social media. He highlighted the farm’s development since 2009 and its continued expansion with support from the Agency for Agricultural and Rural Development (AZHBR).

Since its establishment, “Bregu i Lofatave” has planted around 4,000 olive trees. The farm now produces extra virgin olive oil and targets both local and international consumers.

Meanwhile, farmer Florian Shkoza has brought his professional experience from Tuscany, Italy, to Vlora. He lived and worked in Tuscany for 20 years before applying his experience to olive cultivation in Albania.

“We have around 4,000 olive trees, which we started planting in 2009. I lived in Tuscany for 20 years, and we applied the experience I gained there in this profession here in Vlora,” Shkoza said.

Furthermore, the farm has expanded its international presence. It now sells its premium olive oil in several European markets and the United States.

At the same time, AZHBR support has helped the farm modernize its operations. The latest investments focus on agricultural machinery, processing, packaging, storage, and labeling.

“We have had a long-standing cooperation with AZHBR. Recently, we applied for three projects under two measures. We have already implemented the agricultural machinery project, while another measure supports packaging, storage, and labeling lines,” Shkoza said.

As a result, “Bregu i Lofatave” continues to strengthen its production capacity while expanding the reach of Albanian olive oil in international markets.
