Klodiana Spahiu has been sworn in as Minister of Health and Social Welfare at the Presidency. President Bajram Begaj appointed her following Prime Minister Edi Rama’s proposal, after Evis Sala resigned from the post.
Spahiu is a cardiologist and holds a medical degree from the University of Tirana. She later specialised in cardiology at QSUT and completed further training in Italy in non-invasive and invasive cardiology.
She also holds a master’s degree in Health Management and a PhD in Medical Sciences. Spahiu has worked as a cardiologist, hospital director and university lecturer.
She now takes charge of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.
