Prime Minister Edi Rama has announced a change at the helm of the Interior Ministry. Besfort Lamallari will leave the post and move to the Prime Minister’s Office, while Ervin Demo will take over the ministry.
Rama announced the move while presenting changes to the government. He said Lamallari would join his team at the Prime Minister’s Office.
“Today, I have decided to make a change in the team on the field. Besfort will move from the Interior Ministry to the bench with me and my team at the Prime Minister’s Office,” Rama said.
Meanwhile, Ervin Demo will take charge of the Interior Ministry. Rama said the ministry will also take over local government affairs, a responsibility previously handled within the Prime Minister’s Office.
“Minister for Local Government Ervin Demo will oversee Internal Affairs, where we will also integrate local government matters,” Rama said.
