Prime Minister Edi Rama said today that investments in Zvërnec and Sazan are expected to attract other high-level investors to Albania.
Speaking to journalist Rudina Xhunga on the “Flasim Shqip” program, Rama highlighted several major projects that could follow the investments in Sazan and Zvërnec.
“They will create an experience destination. It will offer much more than villas. It will include some of the world’s highest-end hotels, which do not operate in Albania today. It will also offer health services, horse riding and other activities,” Rama said.
Meanwhile, Rama said the government is working with “Power Holding” on a major healthcare project in the Vlora area.
The project will include a high-end hospital in Zvërnec. Rama stressed that the area will not become a closed community.
“Some parts will have restricted access, but many other areas, including the beach, will remain public. People will be able to access them as they do anywhere else,” Rama said.
At the same time, the government is working on a separate project for Vlora Hospital. The aim is to turn it into another reference point for high-quality healthcare.
Rama also said the projects will create housing for employees. He stressed that the development will not rely on cheap labor.
Instead, the resorts will focus on service excellence and qualified workers. Therefore, the investors are preparing an agreement with Albania’s tourism schools to create employment opportunities for students and graduates.
Rama said the model will follow the approach used with “Fincantieri”, linking education and professional training with future employment opportunities.
Asked whether he had ever discussed the project with US President Donald Trump, Rama said he had not.
“Never. Zero,” Rama said.
