Spahiu: Every Hour Invested in Listening to Citizens Is a Step Toward Better Healthcare Services

Minister of Health and Social Welfare Klodiana Spahiu said that 12 hours of discussions cannot solve all the challenges citizens expect the healthcare system to address. She stressed that healthcare leaders must continue working directly with citizens and communities.

During a coordination meeting with managers of primary healthcare and hospital services, Spahiu called for a constant presence in the field. She urged managers to listen to citizens’ concerns and work every day to find solutions.

“Every hour spent listening, understanding and seeking solutions is an hour invested in improving care” for citizens, Spahiu said.

She also stressed that healthcare goes beyond the services medical staff provide. It starts with the way healthcare workers welcome patients, listen to their concerns and treat them when they seek help.

Furthermore, Spahiu urged healthcare managers to monitor citizens’ needs and concerns closely. She called for daily action to address problems and improve the quality of healthcare services.

“Healthcare is not only a service we provide. It is also the way we welcome, listen to and treat every person who seeks help,” Spahiu said.
