Prime Minister Edi Rama shared images of the transformed Koman road, on social media today. The road connects the Vau i Dejës and Koman hydroelectric power plants. Rama highlights its setting in the spectacular landscape of northern Albania.
The reconstruction began in February last year. The project received around ALL 2.5 billion in funding.
The road provides an important route to the tourism potential of the Albanian Alps. It also improves the tourism experience by adding the HPP Lake Koman ferry journey to travel itineraries.
In addition, the project improves the quality of life for local communities. It also creates opportunities for sustainable economic development in the area.
