President Bajram Begaj met today with German representatives of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Dieter Althaus, former Prime Minister of Thuringia and board member, and Thomas Kunze, the foundation’s current head in Albania.

Begaj thanked Germany for its continued support for Albania’s European Union accession process. He also praised the Konrad Adenauer Foundation for supporting reforms in Albania.

The foundation supports efforts to strengthen democracy, the rule of law and democratic institutions.

Begaj said Albania is steadily advancing on its EU accession path. He highlighted reforms, the rule of law and stronger justice institutions as key priorities.

He added that Albania continues to align its policies and standards with those of the European Union. The country aims to complete the closure of the negotiation chapters by the end of next year.
