National Folk Song and Dance Ensemble Opens Artistic Season with Tour in Italy

The National Folk Song and Dance Ensemble is ready to begin its new artistic season with a calendar of activities that will open with a tour of several Italian cities.

Artistic Director Sokol Marsi said the ensemble has just returned from Kosovo, where it took part in a nationwide festival and received the Award of Appreciation. The group is now preparing for its upcoming tour of Italy.

The tour’s artistic program will feature songs and dances from different Albanian regions. The ensemble aims to showcase Albania’s folk heritage and culture to both the Albanian community in Italy and local audiences.

After the Italy tour, the National Ensemble will travel to Edinburgh, Scotland, where it will present its artistic program for the first time.

“We will go to Edinburgh, where heritage connects beautifully with art and culture,” Marsi said.

Meanwhile, the ensemble is preparing another major artistic project for the November celebrations. The well-known Albanian legend “Konstandin and Doruntina” will take the stage as an entomusical, presented by the organizers as a world premiere.
