Albanian Ambassador to France Dritan Tola met with INTERPOL President Lucas Philippe in Paris to discuss cooperation between Albania and the international police organization.
During the meeting, Ambassador Tola congratulated Philippe on the new momentum and dynamism he has brought to the organization since taking office. He also reaffirmed Albania’s full support for his work and mission.
The Albanian Embassy in France said Albania has been an INTERPOL member since 1991. The country maintains close and active cooperation with the organization and its international network, reflecting its continued commitment to international police cooperation and the fight against transnational crime.
The embassy highlighted the strength of this cooperation through the European Regional Conference of INTERPOL, which Albania hosted in Tirana in June 2024. The conference brought together nearly 160 senior police officials from 54 countries to discuss key security issues and the fight against organized crime.
Meanwhile, the meeting also focused on ways to further strengthen cooperation between Albania and INTERPOL. The participants discussed the possibility of a future visit to Albania by the INTERPOL president and other senior officials from the organization.
