Albanian businesses made further progress in digitalisation in 2026, according to data published by INSTAT. The main trends include higher use of online sales, cloud services, enterprise resource planning systems and artificial intelligence.
Online sales saw the strongest growth. INSTAT said 31.3% of businesses with 10 or more employees sold products or services online in 2026, up from 28.1% in 2025. Online sales also accounted for 11.4% of total turnover, compared with 10.1% a year earlier.
Meanwhile, artificial intelligence use rose to 12.4% from 9%. Cloud services reached 35.3%, while 36.9% of businesses used one or more enterprise resource planning applications. The share of businesses with a website also increased to 62.9%.
Digital connectivity improved as well. Some 66.6% of businesses used internet connections with download speeds above 100 Mbit/s, compared with 50.4% in 2025. Nearly all businesses, 99.5%, used computers with internet access for work.
By business size, medium-sized companies with 50 to 249 employees recorded the strongest increase in online sales, from 14.2% to 22.9%. By economic activity, online sales had the highest share in telecommunications, computer programming, consultancy and other information services, at 53.8%.
