Italian writer Roberto Ferrucci led the “Travel Diary” workshop today at the “Sotir Kolea” Centre of the National Library in Tirana.
The workshop focuses on travel writing. It explores how writers can use their experiences to describe places, encounters and personal stories.
The Italian Cultural Institute in Tirana organised the workshop in cooperation with the National Centre of Books and Reading and the National Library. The programme will continue on September 23.
Ferrucci has a strong connection with travel writing. His book “Andate e ritorni – scorribande a nordest”, for example, follows Vespa journeys through northeastern Italy.
The Italian Cultural Institute invited Ferrucci to Tirana as part of its “Scrittori in residenza” project. He will lead the “Travel Diary” workshop during his stay.
Ferrucci is an Italian writer, creative writing lecturer and translator. He made his literary debut in 1993 with “Terra rossa”.
He later published works including “Giocando a pallone sull’acqua”, “Andate e ritorni”, “Cosa cambia”, “Storie che accadono” and “Il mondo che ha fatto”, published in 2025.
Creative writing also plays an important role in his professional work. Since 2002, Ferrucci has taught at the University of Padua. He also leads writing workshops in Italy and France.
