The Albania national football team began preparations today for its next four UEFA Nations League matches. Head coach Rolando Maran led the first training session at the “House of Football” in Tirana.
A total of 26 players took part in the session. Players who featured for their clubs over the weekend completed a recovery session. Meanwhile, the rest of the squad followed a combined programme. They worked on tactical exercises and completed gym sessions.
Ivan Balliu is expected to join the team later tonight. Midfielder Feta Fetai, who replaces the injured Qazim Laçi, is also expected to join the squad in the coming hours.
However, midfielder Adrion Pajaziti will miss the upcoming national team matches. He suffered an injury to his right thigh muscles during his club’s match over the weekend.
Pajaziti joined the national team camp today. He then underwent medical examinations and an MRI scan. The tests confirmed that the injury will keep him out of action for around three weeks. As a result, Pajaziti will return to his club to continue his recovery.
Dinamo City midfielder Klevi Qefalia has received the call-up as his replacement. He will join Maran’s squad immediately.
The national team will continue preparations tomorrow. The players will hold another training session at the “House of Football” at 16:00.
