The Municipality of Vau i Dejës has begun steps to establish a twinning agreement with the Municipality of Perugia in Italy. The initiative aims to strengthen institutional cooperation and exchange experiences.
Vau i Dejës Mayor Kristian Shkreli met with Perugia Mayor Vittoria Ferdinandi in Perugia. They discussed opportunities to establish a lasting cooperation between the two local governments. Representatives of the Vau i Dejës Municipal Council and administration also attended the meeting.
According to Shkreli, the twinning aims to go beyond a formal agreement. It would create opportunities for cooperation in culture, tourism, the economy and local administration. It would also promote the values and potential of both territories. Meanwhile, the partnership with Perugia is expected to support joint projects and exchanges between institutions and communities. It could also help Vau i Dejës benefit from Italian experience in support of local development.
