Affairs of Albania: Prime Minister Rama convenes SP MPs on laws and regional tour

TIRANA, April 7 – Prime Minister and party leader Edi Rama convened the SP parliamentary group on Tuesday, April 7. The meeting focused on legislative priorities and MPs’ participation in the “Affairs of Albania” regional tour.

Parliament is aligning legislation with Albania’s European Union accession directives. MPs are also working on two major reforms: the electoral reform and the territorial reform. These reforms aim to strengthen governance and support Albania’s EU integration process.

Journalist Denada Shkodrani, reporting for RTSH, noted that Prime Minister Rama will begin the regional tour to meet local interest groups and discuss issues requiring practical solutions. The tour is expected to address local development challenges and provide a platform for MPs to engage directly with citizens.

The parliamentary meeting included Socialist Party MPs. Among them was Erion Braçe, who previously expressed ambition to run for Tirana Municipality. Former Minister of Foreign Affairs Elisa Spiropali also attended. The gathering highlighted both the legislative agenda and the upcoming regional engagement of MPs.

The “Affairs of Albania” initiative is part of the government’s broader effort to connect parliamentary work with local communities. By linking legislative priorities with on-the-ground consultations, the tour seeks to ensure that policy decisions address concrete needs across the country.
