Albania advances in implementing EU Growth Plan

TIRANA, August 7 – Albania continues to make progress in implementing reforms linked to European integration and has received financial support under the European Union’s Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.

According to the EU-funded platform “WEBALKANS_eu”, Albania has made strong and sustainable progress. The platform said the country has benefited from additional funds and opportunities to accelerate economic development, increase investments and bring European standards closer.

The Agency for Media and Information (MIA) reported that Albania has so far received 23% of the funds allocated under this financial instrument. The figure reflects the country’s progress in implementing reforms agreed with the European Union.

The Growth Plan aims to speed up economic development in Western Balkan countries. It also seeks to increase investments and bring regional economies closer to the EU single market and standards.

Through this support, Albania receives funding and assistance for economic strengthening, competitiveness, infrastructure improvement and regional connectivity. The plan also supports businesses and entrepreneurship while helping the country advance reforms required for EU membership.

The EU Growth Plan for the Western Balkans represents a strategic initiative that promotes economic growth, job creation and gradual alignment with European policies and standards through reforms and investments.

Albanian institutions said the implementation of the plan would increase the country’s economic potential, improve the business climate and accelerate European integration. They added that the process would create more opportunities for citizens and businesses.
